An Asheville-based artist since 2013, I’m primarily self-taught and work in charcoal, watercolors, oils, and relief printmaking. I’m interested in mediums and processes that are messy and difficult (or impossible) to completely control as I enjoy exploring the balance of chaos and control. Up until recently, my art has been realism focused on finely detailed subject matter such as portraiture, repetitive patterns found in cityscapes, and both of these characteristics in depictions of wild animals such as birds. For the past couple of years, I’ve been hand-printing linocuts and look forward to creating additional print series.
My work is currently on display at Re.Imagine Gallery (Fairview, NC) and Asheville Print Studio + Gallery (Asheville, NC). My work is also part of several private collections around the country. I’m not currently accepting commissions.
When not in the studio, you can find me mountain biking, renovating my 100-year old house, or reading too many books at once.
